*** DER RUMBIGEL is the script for a fantastic children's feature film about friendship, loss, love and death, which shows that children grieve differently from adults, allows for humour and lightness and is based on their own experiences.
DER RUMBIGEL has colourful shaggy hair, looks a bit bearish and has a small hedgehog snout. This is who 10-year-old Edda meets after she unexpectedly and suddenly loses her mother Rose to an aneurysm, a blood clot in the brain. The Rumbigel accompanies Edda through crippling sadness, anger, joy and silliness and shows her how much community and love count. Again and again he takes her to scenes of nature, past and future. Edda and her best friend Aki enter the comforting Rumbigel world together - they sing with the spirits, dance with the forces of nature and reconcile with anger.
